Direction on how to install E-Open in to a BMW Z4
Please note the following:
1) This is for information ONLY; you take full responsibility for what you do. If you blow up your car, do not come yelling at me.
2) I did this install on a US spec 2005 BMW Z4. I do NOT know if it will work on BMW’s from other countries.
3) This install did NOT work because my Z4 already had an auto top down feature from BMW that is conflicting with the E-Open. In order to get this to work in my car I have to find out how to disable the internal remote top down feature. The unit was removed from my old 2003 Z4 and it worked just fine. All of the connections are the same.
The car: If your car was made 4/04 or later, you will have problems. The car already has an Auto-Top down feature.

1984-1995 Honda Accord/Prelude Emissions PVC testing
The PCV valve is easily checked with the engine running at normal idle speed (warmed up). Gently pinch the hose shut, then release it; the valve should click. If there is no click, check for plugged hoses or ports. If these are open, the valve is faulty. With the engine OFF, remove the valve from the engine. Shake it, listening for the rattle of the plunger inside the valve. If no rattle is heard, the plunger is jammed (probably with oil sludge) and should be replaced. Never operate the engine without the PCV valve or with the hose blocked.
Don’t blow directly into the valve in an effort to free the plunger; petroleum vapors and deposits within the valve are harmful.

This may cause damage to the spark plug and leave part of the spark plug in the cylinder head. Affected engine build dates are as follows: 5.4L 3-V and 6.8L 3-V before 10/9/07, 4.6L 3-V before 11/30/07.

The kit is very easy to install. But you must take your time. It is suggested that you wear eye protection when installing the system if your product is fitted with the optional DDE Lightning Plus™ rings. All fluorescent lamps contain small amounts of the element Mercury. If you break a ring do not blow the debris away or inhale the powder. Wipe up any debris with a damp paper towel and dispose of it. Handle the rings with care until they are installed inside of the bezel of the headlights and they will provide years of trouble free operation. Lamps can last for over 100,000 hours of operation.

TDi and N/A engines have some fundamental differences, mechanical as well as fueling. The major mechanical ones being compression ratio and piston cooling. The injection pump is tuned to suit the type of engine and expected use, so I would expect an engine from a car to be set up with the flexibility required. There are ancillary differences between engines, the most obvious being different water and oil pumps on van engines. Sumps from cars have smaller capacity than vans. TDi engines have a different breather system with two hoses to the sump.
