Some 2006 – 2009 model year Camry vehicles equipped with the 2AZ-FE engine and U250E automatic transaxle (ATM) may exhibit a harsh 5–4 downshift under the following conditions: • ATM at normal operating temperature • After driving above 45 mph (72 km/h) • Decelerating through 28 mph (45 km/h) The line pressure control solenoid assembly (SLT) has been improved to reduce this condition on customer complaint vehicles.

OVERHAUL HINT: Overhaul the RH side by the same procedures with LH side.
1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID NOTICE: Wash off the brake fluid immediately if it comes into contact with a painted surface.
3. DISCONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE
a. Remove the union bolt and a gasket from the disc brake cylinder, then disconnect the flexible hose from the disc brake cylinder.
4. REMOVE DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSY FR LH
a. Remove the 2 bolts and disc brake cylinder.
5. REMOVE DISC BRAKE PAD KIT FRONT (PAD ONLY)
a. Remove the 2 brake pads with anti-squeal shim.

The plastic dash panel surrounding the radio and air conditioner controls must be unsnapped from the dash in order to gain access to the bolts which secure the radio. Pull out the ashtray at the bottom of the plastic dash panel. With your hands, grab the bottom of the plastic dash panel below the ashtray location and pull firmly until the plastic dash panel begins to unsnap from the dash. Continue to pull the dash until the sides and top of the dash panel completely unsnap from the main dash assembly. The radio is secured to the dash with four (4) 10 mm bolt screws, (1) at each side corner of the radio. Locate and remove all four bolt screws. Pull the radio out of the dash. Unplug the black cable plugged into the rear of the radio. Unplug (2) white plastic wire harness connectors snapped into the rear of the radio. The radio can now be completely removed from the dash.

Original Exhaust System Removal
Note: With a used vehicle, we suggest a penetrating spray lubricant to be applied liberally to all exhaust fasteners and allowing a significant period of time for the chemical to lubricate the threads before attempting to disassemble.
1. Unbolt the flanges shown in figure 1 located just in front of the muffler assemblies. Place the nuts to the side for use during the installation of your new exhaust.
2. Lubricate all the hangers and rubber isolators.
3. Using a muffler stand or an additional person to hold the right muffler assembly in place, remove the hangers from the rubber isolators and then remove muffler as shown in figure 2.
4. Repeat step 3 for the removal of the left side muffler assembly.
