2008 Ford Taurus LTD AWD
There are several changes for this car, this year. First, it loses the Five Hundred name and is now called Taurus. Next, a 3.5L engine supplants the 3.0L V6 and the continuously variable (CVT) transmission has been retired. Finally, there is a refreshed exterior and improvements to the interior and safety equipment. 1. Access blower motor and resistor per the Workshop Manual Sections 412-02 and 412-04. Inspect for evidence of water/corrosion. If water/corrosion are found or parts have failed, replace per Workshop Manual (blower motor 1F1Z-19805-AA and resistor F6DZ-19A706-AA).

2005 Ford Taurus Engine Controls Vacuum Leakage Noise Possible DTC’s
Some 2005 Taurus and Sable vehicles equipped with a 3.0L 2V and some 2003-
2005 Lincoln LS vehicles equipped with a 3.0L 4V engine may exhibit a vacuum
leakage noise or lean codes and/or malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) on. The
cause may be a leak at the 0-ring on the intake manifold tuning (IMT) valve.

2008 Ford Taurus X Windshield Installation
Preparation
1. Always wear eye and hand protection when working with glass. Make sure you have the right glass and moldings and the urethane systems you are about to use are current. Windshield part number is DW1691.
2. Cover the front seats, floorboards, dash and steering wheel with a clean drop cloth or disposable plastic covers.
3. Drape a fender cover over the fender and tape up any vulnerable areas on the vehicle to protect against possible damage. Tape up the defroster vents to prevent debris from falling into the openings.

Inspect the brake shoes for wear using a ruler or Vernier caliper. Compare measurements to the brake specifications chart. If the lining is thinner than specification or there is evidence of the lining being contaminated by brake fluid or oil, repair the leak and replace all brake shoe assemblies (a complete axle set).
