Preparation
1. Ensure all lamps and accessories are OFF.
2. Ensure the ignition switch is in the OFF position.
3. Loosen the negative battery cable bolt. Remove negative battery cable from terminal and position away from battery.
4. Wait one (1) minute prior to working on the vehicle to assure all airbag systems have been disabled for your safety. Read more

GM 5 Unlock Installation Possibilities
GM UnLOCK GM 5. After installation, the GM 5 will allow continuous operation of the AUX input video features of your navigation screen (vehicle must have a VIDEO AUX input jack in the console – small audio jack in front of screen is not a video AUX input), and if your screen is capable of playing DVD movies, the GM 5 UnLOCK will allow continuous operation of the DVD player when selected.
The GM 5 is equipped with a video input that you can use for a rear camera input, a front camera input or both. The video input can also be used for displaying the picture from your iPOD, video game, computer or external DVD player. (See below for video input programming requirements) The GM 5 UnLOCK will also allow the user to unblock on command, navigation features locked when in motion and various functions locked in XM and CD player modes. 1. Before working, please make sure the vehicle power is off (please keep in mind when pulling out the
key, only monitor supply would be off but whole vehicle power supply would be off 5 minutes later).
2. Starting with separating of the monitor and the connecter removed in working may causes an error code. Do not start until the work is done.

Audi A6/A8/Q7MMI CT90-AU06 Multimedia Interface Installation
This interface allows additional video inputs to the original MMI screen;
2 Video inputs/Automatically switchable camera input/ RGB Navigation input
There are also 2 video outputs and an audio output.
Selection can be made by infra red remote control or by the Nav button in the vehicle.
The remote control can also be used to adjust the picture via an on screen menu.
If a camera and reverse signal wire are connected it will automatically switch when the vehicle is put into reverse gear.
The vehicle shown in the installation instructions is a 2006 Audi A6 LHD. The installation and locations of units in the A8 and Q7 will be similar.
During the installation it is advised that the keys are removed from the ignition, until all components are reconnected.
