Alfa Romeo 156 Brake Replacement

The procedure below was written up for a 1998 2.0 Twinspark with vented front discs but should be the same for all 156 models. The shape of the pads will differ between vented and solid discs at the front. Later models have larger rear discs and therefore different pads. It should not matter if we are talking standard brakes with normal or drilled/grooved discs with high-speed road pads – the process is the same. The only difference is that some front pads don’t have the wear indicator so you will need to tie the cable back out of the way if not required.

2008 HR BMW M3 Coupe
Here’s some news to delight M3 fans – right from the launch of the new M3, H&R has sporty components to make it even more agile. Some test drivers believe the car’s tuning places too much emphasis on comfort in comparison with its competitors – this can be sharpened up by adding an H&R spring kit. The spellbinding steering precision right from the factory can be improved a few shades more by the 25-millimetre lower suspension setting at the front axle and 15-millimetre lower suspension at the rear.

Start with a complete tune up (if not recently conducted):
• Replace ignition components: spark plugs, cap, rotor, wires (use Bosch ignition parts and use only W7DC or W7DTC plugs)
• Replace air and fuel filters
• Replace injector seals and idle screw O-ring

1989 Mercedes Benz 420SEL (126 Chassis) Electro-Hydraulic Actuator Operation

The electro-hydraulic actuator is bolted to the side of the fuel distributor. It consists of a
plate valve fastened between two electromagnets.
By varying the electric current to the electro-hydraulic actuator and changing the
strength of the magnets, the plate valve can be moved. The varying position of the plate
valve controls the quantity of fuel allowed into the lower chamber of the fuel distributor,
causing the differential pressure to vary. The operating range is from -50 to +150mA.
Differential pressure will be from 0 bar to about 1.6 bar (24 PSI) less than system
pressure.

2007 Freelander 2 SE Rear Screen Connectivity Aftermarket Install Guide

I have just finished fitting the rear screen connectivity system to my car. I was going to do a photo album of the install, unfortunately the camera died after the second photo. Instead I have used pics from the installation instructions and workshop manual to help illustrate.
Typical Land Rover, the instructions that came with the kit where pictorial only, and not as clear as they could have been (in my humble opinion). I hope this installation guide will be a lot easier to follow and hopefully you won’t have the few problems I encountered.

Transmission Service with the 1524 Transmission Flusher

The number one reason for transmission failure is fluid breakdown. Over time, the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) becomes contaminated and loses its viscosity and the ability to lubricate the moving parts within the transmission. Conventional service methods of dropping the pan and changing the filter result in only about 30-40% of the total ATF in the transmission being drained out. That leaves 60-70% of the old ATF to be mixed with the new ATF introduced during service. Therefore, adequate lubrication is not achieved.
