2006 Civic Immobilizer Indicator Is Blinking, Engine Won’t Start
The engine does not start, and the immobilizer indicator is blinking (especially if the battery recently went dead and the engine was jump-started).
PROBABLE CAUSE
The immobilizer IMOES code has been erased.
NOTE: This problem occurs only if all these conditions are met: • The security system is set. • The battery goes dead. • Battery power is connected to the vehicle, then disconnected in a very short period of time (milliseconds).

Audi TT Coupe (U.S. Version) Fog Light Modification for Daytime Running Light Operation
The U.S. Version of the Audi TT Coupe (and Roadster) does not come factory equipped with daytime running light capability. Daytime running lights being headlamps or similar, smaller lamps that are on whenever the ignition of the car is on. These lamps then also remain on when the parking lights and the headlights are turned on. I feel daytime running lights add to the safety level and overall appearance of any car. You’re more visible to pedestrians and other motorists and the car looks better in the frontal view. So, the challenge was to determine the best way to add daytime running lights to the TT Coupe. Since the TT is equipped with fog lights that are built in to the headlight cluster the plan was to try to modify the circuitry controlling the fog lights to make them behave like daytime running lights. However, I also needed to retain the normal on/off fog light operation during use of the headlights.

2004 Prius EV (Electric Vehicle) Button Installation Instructions
These instructions allow you to take advantage of the built-in feature of what is commonly called “EV (electric vehicle) Mode” of your 2004+ Prius. In Japan and European versions of the Toyota Prius the vehicle is sold with an EV Button pre-installed by Toyota. For some reason, in the North American version this button is left off (note: speculation focuses on possible EPA/NHTSB regulations that were unclear as to whether the option to use 2 different ‘fuels’ was legal. Also it has been speculated that the decision came from Toyota, but no clear statement, at this writing, has come from Toyota. This guide will help you install the VAIS Technology AIC-100i, which connects a 3G or 4G Apple iPod, as well as an auxiliary audio input, to a Toyota Prius. The iPod input is “controlled,” which means that you can use the steering wheel and touchscreen audio controls to change volume, tracks, and playlists. The iPod will stay powered and charged while the Prius is powered on, and will pause automatically when you switch modes, turn off the audio, or receive a Bluetooth phone call. Text from the iPod will display on the touchscreen to show song, album, artist, and playlist titles. The auxiliary audio input is uncontrolled and not powered. You can change the volume with the steering wheel buttons, but you must use the controls on the device you attach for everything else.

Toyota was beaten by Honda in the race to get a hybrid vehicle on to the Australian market, however the enforced delay (brought about by Design Rule and tax concession issues) has brought benefits for buyers. The Prius now on sale here for $39,990 is the latest model that is currently on sale in Japan.
The Toyota Prius made its debut in Japan as the world’s first production hybrid vehicle back in 1996 and more than 60,000 have since been sold around the world. These early cars formed the basis for testing in Australia and were also used as evaluation vehicles by some State Governments and fleet operators.

Toyota Prius Hybrid Electric Vehicle Performance Characterization Report
The U.S. Department of Energy’s Field Operations Program evaluates advanced technology vehicles in real-world applications and environments. Advanced technology vehicles include pure electric, hybrid electric, hydrogen, and other vehicles that use emerging technologies such as fuel cells. Information generated by the Program is targeted to fleet managers and others considering the deployment of advanced technology vehicles. As part of the above activities, the Field Operations Program has initiated the testing of the Toyota Prius hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), a technology increasingly being considered for use in fleet applications. This report describes the Pomona Loop testing of the Prius, providing not only initial operational and performance information, but also a better understanding of HEV testing issues. The Pomona Loop testing includes both Urban and Freeway drive cycles, each conducted at four operating scenarios that mix minimum and maximum payloads with different auxiliary (e.g., lights, air conditioning) load levels. The five passenger Prius is powered by a 70-hp, 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder gasoline engine and a 44-hp electric motor. The Prius also has a 274-volt nickel metal-hydride battery comprising 228 1.2-volt cells.
The Prius exhibited test results of 35.7 to 55.6 miles per gallon (mpg) during the four types of Urban Loop testing; the EPA estimate for city driving is 52 mpg. During the four types of Freeway Loop testing, the Prius got 40.0 to 45.4 mpg; the EPA estimate for highway driving is 45 mpg. Even though the EPA tests are conducted on a dynamometer and the Pomona Loop tests are conducted as on-road driving tests, when tested with a minimum payload and no auxiliary loads, the mpg test results are the same for the Freeway Loop testing and the EPA highway testing. Under the same operating scenario, the Urban Loop results are 3.6 mpg higher than the EPA estimate for city driving.
