Always protect the painted and interior surfaces, on all vehicles during the installation. 1. Vehicle Disassembly. (a) Place the Vehicle in Park and have the Parking Brake Set before disconnecting the Battery. (b) Remove the Negative Battery Cable (Fig. 1-1) (1) Protect the Fender before starting. (2) Note the Battery Cable position, as it will be re- installed in the same position. Installation of GATEWAY 500 unit Dual FOT
For All Audi vehicles: A good location to mount the GATEWAY 500 unit is at the CD Changer behind the glove box. If the vehicle is equipped with the in-dash CD Changer, install the GATEWAY 500 unit behind it. Interfacing in the MOST optical ring should be done as shown in the installation guide.
For All Audi vehicles NOT equipped with a factory CD Changer, the GATEWAY 500 interface shall be integrated into the optical MOST ring at the output of the head unit.
For All Audi vehicles equipped with a factory CD Changer, the GATEWAY 500 interface shall be installed at the factory CD Changer location

2003-06 Honda/Acura CD Changer Interface
The AXHA2 can either provide up to 2 auxiliary audio inputs to your Honda radio for use with any device that has RCA line level outputs, or provides 1 auxiliary audio input and allows interfacing an aftermarket CD changer. AUX 1 is the 8-pin DIN to RCA cable which plugs into the 8-pin DIN port on the AXHA2 interface. AUX 2 is the set of RCAs that are wired directly to the AXHA2. REPLACEMENT 1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the screw from the glove compartment door stoppers.
b. Deform the upper part of the glove compartment door assembly to release the stoppers.
c. Pull the glove compartment door assembly upward to remove it.
3. REMOVE ECM
a. Remove the 2 clips using a clip remover, then open the cover.
b. Disconnect the 4 ECM connectors.

Loosen the necessary screws of the glove box (Fig. 9 – 11). Disconnect the original wiring of the CD/AMI device (if available).
Remove the cover shown on figure 12. Mount the interface to the back of the glove box by using suitable fastener
Remove the airbag sign by using suitable tools (in order to avoid damages) and loose the screw located behind.
NOTE: Does the vehicle have airbags fitted along the A-column it is essential to wire the loom for the microphone BEHIND the airbag. Wire the loom without putting tension on it. Mount the loom without affecting the airbag in it’s functionality.
Open the storage of the interior light and loose the screw (Fig. 19). Mount the microphone on the original location within the interior light – driver’s side

Loosen the necessary screws of the glove box (Fig. 22, 23). Disconnect the original wiring of the CD/AMI device (if available). Mount the interface to the back of the glove box by using suitable fastener.

Mounting the PhatBox
When choosing a mounting location remember: Leave at least 3 inches of clearance for the cable. The PhatBox should be mounted parallel or perpendicular to the floor of the car. Don’t mount near wiring or fuel lines. Leave the front of the PhatBox unobstructed for easy insertion of and removal of the cartridge. The unit should be mounted to a hard stable surface, such as particle board or sheet metal.
