A new concept coupe to be shown at the Detroit auto show in January will take the name of Challenger. The long-expected two-door will take on the Ford Mustang directly with a chassis derived from Chrysler’s 300C/Magnum twins, along with a 425-hp version of the HEMI V-8 in the most thrilling versions. Chrysler is expected to show the car as a concept at the show, but insiders suggest the vehicle will be in production as early as 2009 on a new version of the 300C platform. Chrysler has only offered this official sketch of the concept prior to the January auto show debut, but these spy shots were taken last week as the vehicle was prepared for its auto-show debut.
The 2009 Challenger SRT10 concept was developed by Chrysler’s in-house performance engineering organization, Street and Racing Technology (SRT) with a focus on the five pillars of every SRT vehicle: bold exterior design that resonates with the brand image, a race-inspired interior, world-class ride and handling across a dynamic range, a standout powertrain and benchmark braking.
“The 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT10 concept resurrects authentic American muscle car for the Dodge brand,” said Kipp Owen, Director — SRT, Chrysler LLC. “SRT has engineered a superb example of performance engineering capability with a resourceful and creative flare.”
If the TPMS Warning Light (see Figure 1) flashes or stays ON, please use the “TPMS Diagnostic Chart” (page 2) to resolve the incident. NOTE: If more than one wheel transmitter is NOT activated, the blinking patterns for those wheels will combine. (Example: one blink/OFF/three blinks = LF and RR transmitters are not activated.)
CAUTION (for Pathfinder & Murano ONLY):
• Do NOT remove the Long Term Storage Fuse with the ignition key in the ON position.
• If the storage fuse is removed with the ignition key ON, the Wheel Transmitter (“Wake Up”) Activation procedure must be done.
There are over 40 million vehicles currently equipped with Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS), and today all new vehicles sold in the US are required to have this system. TPMS equipped vehicles require special tools to perform routine tire rotation/replacement and related services. Specifically, a tool kit that provides the capability to test wheel sensors and “reset” the TPMS are required.
The Service Reminder Indicator (SRI) is triggered at the appropriate interval since last service. Depending on model, this is based on accumulated mileage, calendar time, or hours of engine operation. Once triggered, the SRI comes on each time the engine is started. The light goes out after approximately two minutes except on 850 Base variant (without trip computer). After service is performed and the SRI counter reset, the SRI will not light again until shortly before next service is due.
The VS/OS Application Card together with the hand-held controller allows the resetting of the oil change/service due warning lights in a range of vehicles. Mercedes vehicles generally use three exclusive types of diagnostic connector socket (see below), 8 pin (A), 16 pin (B) (use pin 6) and 32 pin (C). These connectors can be located in the engine bay, normally along the bulkhead. The A-class uses the standard J1962/OBDII connector (D), located under the steering column.
Service Reminder Indicator (SRI), resetting
The Service Reminder Indicator (SRI) must be reset during the pre-delivery inspection and after each oil change service or inspection service.
The Service Reminder Indicator (SRI) can be reset in two different ways.
