Installation – Steps 1-3
1. Turn the ignition on and open the roof completely. Then start closing the roof and stop when the rear lid is fully open (vertical position). This enables access to the area marked (2). IMPORTANT: Turn off the ignition and remove key before continuing! Remove rear seat bench (lift up front portion with force), then remove T-30 torx screw (1).
2. Remove rear side panel: First pull towards the center of the car (1) then lift up and slide up and frontward out. Simultaneously pull the back rest up (where the torx screw was removed earlier). The side panel is just snapped into place and can be lifted off along the rubber edge (2). Directly behind the panel is the roof controller box.

The purpose of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 216 is to reduce deaths and serious injuries when vehicle roofs crush into occupant compartments during rollover crashes. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a supplemental notice of proposed rulemaking (SNPRM) for this standard, asking for comments on additional tests conducted by the agency since the 2005 notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) does not believe the additional tests provide meaningful information for a standard requiring two-sided testing.

Removal & Installation
1) Fuel pump assembly is located inside fuel tank. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE. Raise vehicle on hoist. Drain fuel into suitable container. Disconnect electrical connectors and fuel hoses at fuel tank.
2) Remove fuel filler hose from fuel tank. Remove nuts securing fuel tank. Remove fuel tank from vehicle, and remove fuel pump assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS table at end of article.
