You may following below steps to complete the installation:
1. In the interior of the vehicle, remove the upper windshield trim, the driver’s side A-pillar trim and kick-panel (plastic trim panel on the floor by your feet).
2. Remove the factory rearview mirror from the windshield.
3. Install the new mirror.
If the mirror does not fit your vehicle, it may be necessary to replace your mirror button with a different one. Pre-1996 Ford units are a commonly compatible style.
4. Starting at the bottom of the dash on the driver’s side, feed the black, flat connector up to the opening for the A-pillar at the base of the windshield. Routing the wires straight up the pillar, pull enough through to reach the mirror.

Steps for EC Rearview Mirror installation: 1. Remove Battery Cable. (a) Protect fender before starting. (b) Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool when removing cable. (c) Remove the negative battery cable. (Fig. 1-1) 2. Vehicle Disassembly. (a) Remove the OE mirror. (1) Disengage the two claws and remove the mirror cover from the mirror base. (Fig. 2-1) (2) Pull the lever in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration and slide the inner rear view mirror assembly upward to remove it. (Fig. 2-1) (b) Using panel removal tool remove overhead console from headliner. (Fig. 2-2) (1) Disconnect any connectors connected to the overhead console. 3. Install T-taps. Mirror Housing Removal
1. Open driver side door. Lower window.
2. Remove door lock cover.
3. Unsnap and remove the triangular molding that covers the mirror mounting screws.
4. Unsnap and remove the molding that covers the door handle. Remove the screw behind the door handle.
5. Unsnap the control console and unplug the wires. Remove the screw located behind the arm rest.
6. Dislodge the door panel by pulling it up and away from the door slightly. Disconnect light and tweeter connections and remove door panel.

Installation Preparation 1. Inspect electrochromic mirror for damage or defects. 2. Verify with parts list. 3. Place parts on a clean, padded surface. 4. If the vehicle is equipped with an antitheft radio, the security code must be recorded prior to disconnecting the battery cable.
