This convertible Aston Martin was spied just a few days ago while the sedately disguised convertible was out for an early evening romp. Expected as a model-year-2007 car, it would make most sense to be unveiled at the Paris, Los Angeles, or Detroit auto show, and launch in the States by spring of next year. Like its coupe sibling, the convertible gets the Jaguar AJ-V8-derived 380-horsepower 4.3-liter twin-cam, 32-valve V-8 and an aluminum/composite body.

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS concept is based on Aston Martin’s critically acclaimed V8 Vantage coupe, but the company’s design and engineering team have fully exploited the design flexibility of their unique VH architecture and the motor sport development of their 6.0 liter V12 engine to create a dramatic and production feasible concept car focussed on extreme performance and dynamics.
In a speech to the assembled guests, Ulrich Bez said: “Over the last five years, we have established a reputation for presenting fully functional, feasible concept cars, and the Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS is no exception. We will listen with interest to feedback on this concept and, as ever, if there is sufficient demand then we will seriously consider a low volume production run in the near future with a price that will reflect the exclusivity of the car.

2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage N400

Aston Martin is not only showing the DBS for the first time in Europe at the Frankfurt motor show next week but will also showcase two new special editions – the Aston Martin DB9 LM and the V8 Vantage N400. Both special editions draw inspiration from the company’s recent achievements at Le Mans and the Nurburgring 24-hour races.
The V8 Vantage N400 commemorates Aston Martin’s achievements at the Nurburgring where the company enjoyed success in the gruelling ADAC 24-hour race with the V8 Vantage N24 production race car. Aston Martin develops and tests all of its road cars extensively on the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit and the Vantage N400 recently broke the eight minute benchmark around the legendary 14-mile circuit.

Aston Martin DBS – The New James Bond Car

James Bond fans will have to wait until November 17th 2006 to see the car in its full glory with 007 behind the wheel in “Casino Royale”, but the first sneak peaks of the new Aston Martin DBS have appeared today.
Details of the gadgets featured in the car are being kept under close wraps – but MI6 can confirm that they all reside inside the car, and are not the usual pop-up machine guns or rocket launchers. Despite the car featuring MI6 technology, Q will not appear in the film.
