Step 1: Complete Stock Intake.
Step 2: Disconnect vacuum line and pull back.
Step 3: Unclip upper half of air box to remove lid and filter.
Step 4: Pull back rubber mount attached to battery cable. Use pliers if necessary. This will allow stock clamp to be loosened. (To be done in step 5B.)
Step 5: A) Loosen clamp closest to the radiator with 1/4” nut driver. B) Loosen clamp closest to fire wall with 1/4” nut driver. Leave clamps in position.

Factory Exhaust System Removal:
NOTE: Penetrating spray lubricant will assist with removal.
1. Loosen the nuts and bolts at the flange connection on the driver side of the tunnel muffler using a 13mm wrench or socket.
2. Remove the driver side factory hangers from the chassis using a 13mm socket and 12” extension attached to a 3/8” ratchet.
3. Remove the driver side axle pipe hanger from the grommet shown in Fig. D using grommet pullers or a similar device. Carefully remove the rear driver side section of the stock exhaust from the vehicle.

Installation instructions:
1. Remove the bracket assembly from the vehicle.
2. Remove all of the old rubber from inside of the original shell before installing the New Energy Suspension bushings. If heat is used to remove the old rubber, you need to only heat the outer shell enough to loosen the bond of the old rubber. Do NOT burn out the bushing. Always use the proper protective/safety gear for the job and work in a well ventilated area.

Step 1: Remove the Armrest Tray
Open the top portion of the arm-rest and take out the rubber mat that is inside. It is secured by rubber stubs and will “snap” out when you pull on it. Next, take the T-15 Torx and remove the (4) screws that secure the upper armrest tray to the armrest assembly. Place the screws in a Zip Lock bag or other, secure area. Once you remove the tray, you will see the connectors for the BMW cell phone kit.
Do not touch or damage the cellular connections. You are now ready to move on to Step 2.

This installation guide is intended to supplement the BMW Installation Instructions to help you with the installation of the BMW Sirius Receiver for X5 (E53) with Navigation. I opted for the Terk SIR3 Low-Profile Magnetic Mount antenna and mounted it in the spoiler. As a result, this guide will not cover the installation of the BMW Sirius Satellite Antenna and you should follow the instructions supplied with the BMW Sirius Satellite Antenna Kit if you decide to go that route. I found no signal loss or weak reception with the antenna being in the spoiler and would strongly recommend if you want to be stealth and do not like the obtrusive shape of the BMW Sirius antenna on your roof.

Exhaust System Removal:
1. Measure the exhaust pipe 7-1/2 inches forward of the rear axle and mark a line.
2. Using a saw or chain style pipe cutter, cut the stock system.
3. Using a 15 mm socket remove the two flange nuts.
4. Remove the front hanger from the rubber isolator and remove the front section of the stock exhaust system.
5. Remove the rubber isolator after the axle from both the vehicle and the exhaust system.
NOTE: Be sure to save all rubber isolators removed from the vehicle. They will be used to install the CORSA Performance exhaust system in later steps.
