2008 Peugeot 308 HDi 110 90.75mpg
Driving around the coast of Australia in a standard Peugeot 308 HDi 110, John and Helen Taylor have set two new world records. The intrepid husband and wife team drove a completely standard Peugeot 308 HDi 110 hatchback on a 25 day, 9,000 mile journey around the coast of Australia. During the record breaking journey they broke two world records by recording an unprecedented 1192 miles on just 60 litres of diesel fuel and an average fuel consumption of 90.75 mpg.

2008 Peugeot 308 HDi 90s
The Peugeot 308 is now available as a front-line police car, following the completion of the first equipped conversions by Peugeot’s Special Vehicle Operation (PSVO), based in Coventry. 308 is also available as a ‘one stop shop’ vehicle purchase for all Police Forces.
Peugeot’s first 308 Police cars are due out on patrol this month, 308 HDi 90 S is the ideal green choice for a blue light patrol, combining performance with 120gCO2/km emissions with fuel economy of 62.7mpg. Peugeot’s Special Vehicle Operation now equips the 308 with ‘Blue-light’ conversions for UK Police forces.

2005-06 In-Service Vehicle Testing Programme
Carbon Dioxide Emissions and Fuel Consumption. Although there are no mandatory in-use compliance requirements for fuel consumption and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions measurements, these parameters are subject to Conformity of Production requirements for new vehicles. Whilst these requirements do not strictly apply to in-use vehicles, the fuel consumption and CO2 Emissions measurements from this programme have been assessed against the conformity of production requirements to give an indication of whether in-use vehicles differ significantly from the type approval measurements. For CO2, an initial sample of three vehicles is tested and the test statistic defined in directive 80/1268 EEC (as amended) is calculated. By comparing the test statistic with the Pass and Fail decision thresholds a Vehicle model can be determined to Pass, Fail, or require more vehicles to be tested.

2007 Citroen C4 BioFlex
Citroen is launching the C4 BioFlex in September 2007. The C4 BioFlex is a flexfuel vehicle using regular fuel and ethanol. It will be launched first in France and Sweden, and soon after in other European countries. Most of these countries have attractive policies for these new fuel types.
The C4 BioFlex is the Marque’s first flexfuel vehicle in Europe. Citroen already sells flexfuel cars in Brazil, where this kind of vehicle accounted for 65% of the brand’s sales in 2006, and more than 80% since the start of 2007. With this offering, Citroen is present on a new market in this world region. E85 fuel pumps are beginning to appear in France. Some 500 pumps are expected to be up and running by the end of the year.
