2008 Volkswagen Golf Bluemotion

Volkswagen will be firing off the next salvo of its BlueMotion offensive at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt. In total, six new models with technology that is as economical as it is environmentally-friendly, will debut at the world’s largest car show. One of the highlights there: The new Golf BlueMotion. At just 4.5 litres of diesel per 100 km (62.8 mpg), its fuel consumption has been reduced by a full 0.6 litres compared to the original model. Similarly, CO2 emissions have been reduced from 135 g/km to 119 g/km. Actions taken on the BlueMotion make it so efficient that now distances of more than 1,200 km (745 miles) are possible on just one Golf tank of fuel (55 litres).

2007 JE DESIGN Volkswagen Touareg R5

The Touareg R 5 has been given a performance boost, which increases the basic power of the 2.5 l TDI engine from 128 kW / 174 bhp to 152 kW / 206 bhp. Following this performance enhancement, the maximum torque goes up to 460 Nm. JE DESIGN also supplies a performance enhancement package for the Touareg V 10 5.0 TDI, which gives the brawny VW 259 kW / 352 bhp, equating to an increase of 29 kW / 39 bhp. Following this enhancement, the maximum torque is increased from 750 Nm to 855 Nm. Placed between R 5 and V 10, the 3.0 V6 TDI completes the available engine offering. 165 kW / 225 bhp and 500 Nm are the standard values of this engine. A power plus of 45 kW and a torque increased by 50 Nm propel the Touareg in 8,9 seconds from zero to 100 km/h (standard: 9,9 sec) and enable a top speed of 207 km/h (plus 6 km/h).

2008 Volkswagen Phaeton

Volkswagen has announced pricing and specification for its revised Phaeton luxury saloon ahead of the new car’s arrival in September this year. Revision highlights include updated interior and exterior styling as well as a new 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine which boasts more power than the outgoing unit, and which is the first Volkswagen engine to comply with the stringent Euro V emissions legislation.
The new 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine uses common rail technology and has a maximum power output of 233 PS, eight PS more than its predecessor. It produces 450 Nm of torque, has a 0 to 62 mph time of 8.4 seconds and a top speed of 146 mph. Nonetheless it returns a respectable 29.4 mpg on the combined cycle. One requirement of the new Euro V emissions legislation – which does not become law until 2009 – is an 80 per cent reduction in particulates compared with Euro IV, and this has been achieved with this engine.

2008 Audi Cleaner TDi Engines

The new TDI engines with their ultra-low emission system combine the spontaneous performance and superior pulling power of today’s TDI power units with outstanding fuel consumption figures and incomparably low emissions. Indeed, they will already undercut the most stringent emissions limits that are to be applied in the future in Europe as soon as production starts. Just as the entire Audi range complied with the Euro 4 standard and the forthcoming Euro 5 emissions limits years in advance, the Ingolstadt brand is once again set to assume its role as the pioneer of groundbreaking technology.
